5 Virtual Get-Together Ideas

Updated: May 16, 2022

Food has always been a way for us to connect with one another and we know that you might be missing your weekly hangouts and Sunday brunches. Thanks to technology we are able to stay close while staying apart and still enjoy our friendships, food and laughter. With that in mind, we wanted to share some great ideas for how you can celebrate separately while remaining connected through virtual get-togethers over delicious meals!

How To: Virtual Get-Together

  • First, choose the platform you'll use - some people prefer Zoom, some Skype or even Facetime or Whatsapp calling. Be sure that all of your guests are able to access and use whichever platform you decide on.

  • If you want to be super fancy and official, create a themed invitation with date, time and location (Zoom, Skype, etc.). P.S. For movie nights - www.netflixparty.com is a great option to watch your movies in sync!

  • Finally, the delicious part - we've curated some specialty essentials lists and recipes for you to prepare for your virtual get-together. Read our 5 themed recommendations, select the one you're going to try and contact us to order your items at 437-2498, premiumseafoodltd@caribsurf.com or complete our order request form.

Whip up some delicious dishes, put on your Sunday best and get your friends together for what's sure to be a memorable afternoon!

2. Sushi Night

How many of you have looked forward to a sushi night out with your girls and guys after a long week? Sushi lovers, you might remember this blog post about how easy (and fun!) it is to make sushi at home. Add some Asian inspired menu extras and connect with your friends over your own homemade roll with our Sushi Night Essentials. Let's Maki this special, you'll be SOY glad you did this! (puns very, very much intended)

3. Taco Tuesday

Have you missed saying this? So have we! Whether for lunch or dinner, tacos have become a big part of many of our lives, especially on #TacoTuesday. They are just so perfect at any time and go great with fish, shrimp or beef.

So set up those virtual dates, check out our taco recipes, get your Taco Night Essentials together and let the fun begin!

4. Surf n' Turf

Steak and seafood are a winning combination! Seafood is a wonderful side to a tender, juicy steak and some of our favourites include shrimp, lobster, crab and scallops. Of course, the quality of beef is very important to the overall quality of your meal and it doesn't get much better than our Certified Angus Beef ribeye or USDA striploin.

Make it a surprise and see who whips up the best surf and turf dinner. You can even get creative and make this tasty surf and turf inspired Crab Stuffed Burger. Check out our recipes for more inspiration and our Surf and Turf Essentials for everything you'll need.

5. Journey to Italy

While travel maybe restricted right now, there's no restriction on your imagination. Journey to Italy with your friends for an unforgettable virtual get-together. Set the scene with the right background music and prepare an *Italian chef kiss* worthy meal with our Journey to Italy Essentials.

Here's an easy recipe for meatballs packed with fresh herbs and seasonings. We also love this Italian trivia game idea:

Italian Trivia

Test your guests' knowledge of Italian culture, wine and food with this activity. Create a small questionnaire with approximately 10 to 15 multiple choice questions, such as what are the colors of the Italian flag, which are red, green and white. The person with the most right answers, wins!

We hope you liked these ideas! Be sure to tag us on Facebook or Instagram in your get-together photos! Contact us for more information or to order.
