Calling all sushi lovers - the day we've been waiting for is soon here! Tuesday June 18th is International Sushi Day and we cannot wait to bite in to some delicious rolls!


In case you missed our e-news (subscribe to our mailing list here!), where we gave some suggestions on how you can celebrate, we've decided to post them on our blog for more sushi-spiration.


One of the best ways to celebrate will be to throw a sushi party - or as we Bajans like to say, a lime. Grab some friends and make a whole night out of this amazing day.

Ingredients

for 4 servings


SUSHI RICE

2 cups short grain white rice (420 g)

2 cups water (470 mL)

1 tablespoon sugar1 teaspoon salt

¼ cup rice vinegar (60 mL)


SPICY TUNA

¼ lb sushi-grade tuna(115 g)

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 tablespoon sriracha sauce


IMITATION CRAB

4 imitation crabs

1 tablespoon mayonnaise


CHICKEN TERIYAKI

2 chicken thighs

teriyaki sauce, to marinade


ASSEMBLY

1 cucumber

1 carrot

2 avocados

sushi grade nori

seaweed

soy sauce

wasabi

ginger
